Keratin Bond Re-Bonding & Reinstallation Sunshine Coast

Keratin Bond Re-Bonding & Reinstallation Sunshine Coast

Brooke Hames Hair offers a dedicated keratin bond removal, re-bonding and reinstallation service on the Sunshine Coast.

If your extension hair remains in good condition, you may not need to purchase an entirely new set every three to four months. Quality keratin bond hair can often be removed, re-tipped with fresh keratin and professionally reinstalled.

What Is Keratin Bond Re-Bonding?

Re-bonding is the process of removing the original keratin tips from reusable extension hair and creating completely new bonds.

Each extension is individually prepared and re-tipped with fresh keratin before being reinstalled. The new bonds can be customised in size and shape to suit your natural hair density and placement.

The Re-Bonding Process

Your keratin bond maintenance is completed across two separate appointments.

The first appointment is for the safe removal of your extensions. The hair is then assessed, prepared and individually re-bonded.

Your reinstallation appointment is booked for the following day or within the next few days, depending on availability and the amount of hair being prepared.

Benefits of Reusing Keratin Bond Extensions

Re-bonding can:

• Reduce the cost of purchasing new extension hair
• Extend the usable life of quality hair
• Create fresh, secure keratin tips
• Allow the bond sizes to be customised again
• Reduce unnecessary hair waste
• Refresh the placement and colour blend

Custom Micro Bonds

The new keratin tips can be handmade in different sizes to suit each area of the head.

Smaller micro bonds may be created for fine or delicate areas, while slightly larger bonds may be used where the natural hair can comfortably support them.

No bulk. No shortcuts.

Can All Keratin Bond Hair Be Reused?

Not every set will be suitable for re-bonding. The hair must be assessed for quality, shedding, matting, breakage and overall condition.

Hair that is excessively damaged, heavily shed or of unsuitable quality may need to be replaced. Hair originally supplied or installed by another salon can be assessed, but its quality and previous workmanship cannot be guaranteed.

How Often Should Keratin Bonds Be Maintained?

Maintenance timing depends on your natural hair growth, density, lifestyle and home care. Re-bonding and reinstallation appointments are generally planned within an 8–12 week maintenance cycle.

Leaving extensions in for too long can create excess regrowth, tangling and unnecessary pressure on the natural hair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can keratin bond extensions really be reused?

Yes. Quality extension hair can often be reused when it remains in suitable condition. The old keratin is removed and each extension is given a new keratin tip before reinstallation.

Can you re-bond extensions installed by another salon?

Potentially. The hair must first be assessed to determine whether its quality, condition and construction are suitable for re-bonding and reinstallation.

Do removal and reinstallation happen on the same day?

Generally, no. The extensions need time to be properly prepared and individually re-bonded. Removal is booked first, followed by reinstallation the next day or within the following few days.

Will the new bonds be customised?

Yes. The keratin tips can be handmade in different sizes to suit your natural hair density, including smaller micro bonds for delicate areas.
